Hikianalia: The Alahula Kai O Maleka California Voyage 2018
Hikianalia, a Polynesian voyaging canoe, sailed across the Pacific Ocean from Hawaii to California in 23 days. Her voyage was lead by Captain Lehua Kamalu, a female, and was special because the crew navigated using only traditional methods such as the wind, stars and sun. I was honored to be part of the Polynesian Voyaging Society Land Crew that documented her historic arrival into San Francisco Bay.
